Jul 19, 2024Jul 21, 2024
$239
Join Sac City Scuba at Lake Tahoe July 19-21 , for a fun long weekend of diving. Over 3 days we will be diving several locations in and around lake Tahoe, including on a sunken F4 fighter jet and in the one-of-a-kind Underwater Maritime Heritage Trail in Emerald Bay. Divers will have opportunities to complete some or all of the 5 adventure dives required for the PADI Advanced Open Water course.
$239 is for Saturday afternoon Altitude Diving Course. You may add other adventure dives/specialty course dives as desired.
Sample Itinerary Subject to change:
Friday: AM: Sparks Marina Lake Park. (F4 Phantom) PM: Hurricane Bay (Alley-Cat wreck) or Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe.
Saturday: Altitude and Advanced Open Water Course Meeks bay 1pm-6pm.
Saturday Night: Night Dive William Kent Campground Beach. (Where we are camping)
Sunday PM: Advanced Course: Boat dive in Emerald Bay Underwater Maritime Heritage trail, sunken passenger launch and dive around Fannette Island (Tea House). (Very Limited capacity)
Lake Tahoe is cold water diving. It can be completed in the same wetsuit as one would dive in Monterey. Drysuits are also popular. Surface temps can be up to 75° in the summer, but don't let that fool you. Lake Tahoe has incredible thermoclines. At depth the water will be easily as cold as Monterey, or colder.
Since there is no way out of Lake Tahoe without crossing a pass, going to altitude after diving rules apply. Students are prohibited from leaving the Tahoe basin for a minimum of 6 hours after surfacing from their last dive.
Gear is not included but available at $120. Click Here.
